This is a question that has plagued me since my childhood. Does anyone really like the other flavors of Jolly Ranchers besides watermelon, or do they just put up with the other ones because they've always just been part of the package?
We have this giant bag of Jolly Ranchers (what the hell is a Jolly Rancher by the way) at the office, and everyone just digs around until they get a watermelon. Soon, there will be no more watermelon, and we'll have to slum it with a sour apple, or god forbid, a grape.
What is everyone's favorite flavor, and why is the watermelon so successful?

Oh my god. I have long stated that I should open up an only red candy store. ONLY RED. I think it's so crazy, it just might work. Watermelon, strawberry = glorious. Grape= goes straight in the garbage can. Why even bother?

hmm jolly rancher. i suppose the name means just that... a jolly rancher. but who are these people who think, hmmm, let's take this happy farm guy and make him the name of our new product? yet somehow, it works.

Even if he is a farm guy, what does he have to do with hard candy? Perhaps he's a watermelon rancher.

me? i hate the watermelon and sour apple, so i guess i'll take all the grape ranchers.
i just had a mental image of a cowboy rustling up grapes whilst grinning in the open prarie...in other words a Grape Jolly Rancher!

While I do enjoy watermelon jolly ranchers (jr's), I enjoy the rest of the flavors as well. Watermelon...good, Grape...good, sour apple...good. Is it wrong to enjoy them all so much?
My personal preference of candy is Sweettarts. It brings a smile to my face just thinking of the delectible little treats. My only complaint is that about a year or so back, they changed the flavor of green from lime to sour apple. Sour apple is not complimentary to the rest of the flavors in ever so tasty roll of sweettarts. I can only compare it to a savage among holy men! It offends me that they thought they could do this. Damn Willy Wonka, and his army of short little orange men with green hair!

I like em all except for the apple. I'm eating all the others, but we're gonna have a bag of green apple ranchers left in a month or so.

Can't say as though I'd ever given much thought to the guy farming the delicious candies...but I have been partial to the tropical flavors since they were introduced...especially fruit punch

Okay....I'm going to bust it out....
A rancher in fact has a ranch, which by definition raises one specialty, almost always an animal--most notably cattle. A farmer raises crops, which could include watermelon. So, unless the rancher is serving up steak flavored candies, he's lying. It makes absolutely no sense. I've long since pondered this as well. It just doesn't relate at all to fruit flavored candies. I'm not going to say that ranches never raise crops, but if they do it to any extent they would be Farmers, not Ranchers.
(Oh, in case you didn't know, I know this because I grew up on a farm & ranch in Kansas. Notice it is both, so I have to say both in reference to my home to be truly correct.)
Oh, for the record, I'm also a big watermelon fan, but I also love green apple.

I think watermelone and strawberry are absolutly disgusting. I am a fan of cherry and grape. Who the hell eat lemon? that's my question.

i dig the watermelon and i love the new pink lemonade flavor. but i agree with you, most of the other flavors are pretty heinous, especially the tropical flavors- they could make you blow chunks.

Cherry is the BEST jolly rancher flavor, in fact I have often wondered why that disgusting watermelon is in the bag since no one I know ever eats it, we go strait for cherry or green apple. The pink lemonade is awesome too.
