I've decided I'm not going to fully re-cap last week's Apprentice because it was the worst one I've ever watched. A bridal salon? Seriously, a bridal salon? The big, bad Donald, and the guru of reality TV, Mark Burnett, came up with a bridal salon? Stop yourself.
Chris, I'm sad to see you go. I liked your arrogant ways, and it's a shame the show had to stoop to such a level to prove a point.
If only Wes could have driven over Ivana with that moving van.

p.s. If it's a 15-week or whatever job interview, and they get 1-2 days to do their featured tasks. What do they do during the rest of the week?

I have to admitt it really was a bit contrived. Makes you think the producers are pulling all the strings as we go along.
It does not however dismiss the lousey job Chris did from the gitgo just because he thought it was lame. I bet Andy would have stepped up and Kelly would have tried to design a few gowns hinself.

I was very suprised to see Kelly without a sketchpad at his side, and of course Andy would have stepped up. Andy knows that Goonies never say die. It would have been a fair task had Sandy not been in the fold.

schrags, the bridal salon thing isn't that ridiculous. It's a huge business. The teams are what made the episode suck, didn't seem like they really had to do anything to get everything set up...editing didn't make it very exciting either. Don't knock it because you think wedding stuff is gay.

Dickman,
You couldn't have missed my point more completely than you did. I respect the magnitude of the wedding industry, Trump made sure to tell us how many billions of dollars it was worth.
Here's a portion of Sandy's bio from the Apprentice web site:
Sandy, 28, was born and raised in a Portuguese home in the Washington, D.C. area. By the age of 21, she was the youngest bridal storeowner in the country. Since, Sandy has evolved to become an exclusive wedding and event planner in the Metropolitan D.C. area. Her clientele has included heirs to the Tiffany & Co. family and elite politicians.
I thought it was a crock that they would plan a task in which one of the contestants would have such a clear-cut advantage. Chris shot off his mouth in the previous boardroom, and it just seemed a little odd that the next task was completely skewed to his disadvantage.
Trump even said something to the effect of "Sandy, if you lose this one, you'll have no excuse."
Coincidence? I think not.

Schrags-
I agree with your point regarding the "coincidence" of this particular task following Chris' mouth-off. Welcome to not-so-reality-television.
This is hardly the first time that the Apprentice has featured a task where a particular member has a clear advantage. Raj is a Real Estate Developer and they had a task rehabbing and selling apartments. Maria (although she sucks hardcore) is a Marketing Executive and they had a task where they had to develop an ad campaign for the NYPD. These situations have occured many times where a task is assigned that is right up someone's alley. Have you really been watching the show? yikes.

I've been waiting for this post all week.
I had such a bad taste in my mouth after this episode, I was a big fan of Chris..his arrogant no-shit NY attitude was amusing to say the least, and he'll continue to do 'good things'.
What makes me angry to no end that Wes, Maria and Ivana continue to be on my television screen every week, they all just completely suck at life, here is a recap.
Maria: Marketing executive, with your OCD like expressions on QVC it's obvious you would probably have trouble selling crack to a crackhead.
Wes: Ditto for you, you couldn't sell your way out of a box, and you fail week after week.
Ivana: Put down Microsoft Excel for one second, despite your Asian heritage, it's not all numbers and science.
I only hope that a triple cobra strike is possible...please Donald and Mark, save this show...we need this.

Clearly I haven't been watching the show.
Your arguments are horrible.
Sure Raj has some dealings in Real Estate, but this in no way gives him an advantage dealing with contractors (the true nature of the task) or manual labor (the other portion of the task).
Maria is worthless. The majority of the business tasks so far have required a component of marketing. It's a part of business. Marketing is part of the business curriculum, bridal salons are not. Although running a salon requires business expertise, the experience Sandy has in the industry clearly gave her an unfair advantage.
Sure, some of the tasks might have featured a few areas that some of the contestants excel at; I just felt an all out Bridal Salon was a bit much.
Thank you for pointing out the aspect of "not-so-reality-television." Did you and Maria combine brainpower to come up with that one?
yikes.

Alright, enough with the public domestic violence.

First and foremost, do not ever put me with or in any relation to Maria. thanks.
And sure, marketing is a part of all business dealings, but the NYPD task was entirely devoted to advertising and marketing. A clear advantage for a marketing executive, too bad she sucks at everything.
What about last season when they had to run Planet Hollywood and Kristi had a huge advantage as the only restaurant owner in the group? please. same thing.

thanks for the advice Ham. I'm afraid that I'm not confident in following your wise words considering had I done so in the past, I would have castrated myself when I had a boy haircut.

"If it's a 15-week or whatever job interview, and they get 1-2 days to do their featured tasks. What do they do during the rest of the week?"
On the E! special or whatever it was, the people from the first season railed on the whole experience -- the cameras, the instigation by the production crew, etc. I think it was 7 weeks long. And what do they do? The production crew stocks the place with little food and tons of booze, so I think they drink ALOT.
